Hello and welcome

to the first addition of All Saints + Community Group’s Newsletter. I think I should explain why the group is called All Saints + as there seems to be some confusion. It is simply that when six of us originally got together to form a community group nobody knew what our estate was called and we couldn’t find out so we decided to find a name that described the area where we lived. There seemed to be a lot of Saint names in our area but then there were other roads as well so after a lot of discussion All the Saints plus the other roads became All Saints +. At our public meeting in September we became a constituted community group with the core of a committee. However we still need more committee members and would welcome you joining us. We are keen to recruit someone who understands the issues and problems which face people with disabilities in our area to enable us to try to improve things if we can. We would also like to recruit a young person from the neighborhood to put forward the wishes and concerns of our local teenagers. Apart from these two vacancies we have other places on the committee waiting for you to fill them. If you don’t wish to join the committee there are lots of other ways to become involved. You may like to be a street contact and deliver information to your neighbours, or collect their views. You may have a skill you could share, or belong to a group or choir who could recruit from our community or maybe perform for our community. You may have thought of another way to become involved. Whatever the case we want to hear from you and would value your input. We will be holding another public meeting in the new year and this time we will be very careful to avoid days when England are playing football, rugby, tiddlywinks or any other major event so we hope to see more of you then. Margaret Connor - Chair
